About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated full-time chef to prepare and serve meals in line with set menus, ensuring residents enjoy a varied, nutritious, and balanced diet during their stay. You'll be an important part of our supportive team, helping to create a positive, homely environment for those in recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals in line with menus agreed with the Centre Manager, offering varied options including vegetarian.
  • Cater for religious, cultural, and therapeutic dietary requirements as advised by healthcare or dietetic staff.
  • Present meals in a wholesome and appetising way.
  • Maintain excellent food hygiene standards and ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Report any hazards, faulty appliances, or damaged equipment promptly.
  • Support therapeutic responsibilities, encouraging residents to take part in setting / clearing tables and washing up.
  • Work collaboratively within the team, maintaining clear communication with colleagues and residents.
  • Take part in training and development programmes as required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as a chef.
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification.
  • Ability to plan and prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals, adapting to different dietary needs.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety procedures.
  • Organisational skills to manage menus and meal preparation efficiently.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently.
