Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced registered nurse to join the Older Peoples Services based in Ward 6 at Queen Margaret Hospital. The service has 22 inpatient beds and provides ongoing assessment and rehabilitation for the elderly population. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of rehabilitative care to support and manage patients through their rehabilitation journey towards discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of high standards of care to support and manage patients with complex needs.
• Work closely with the Senior Charge Nurse to ensure effective management and operation of the ward.
• Apply experience in an elderly or medical setting and use knowledge and skills to lead, motivate and develop staff within the service.
• Develop knowledge within the Rehabilitation Setting and, as a role model, create a supportive ethos in the provision of a high quality service as set out in the Nursing Assurance Framework.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Registered nurse with relevant experience in elderly or medical settings.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff within the service.
• Must be prepared to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment if required by role assessment.
