Job summary

A support service for individuals with disabilities is seeking Personal Assistants in Cardiff to provide companionship and safety for an 18-year-old with Autism. Responsibilities include taking him out for activities, ensuring his safety, and assisting with personal care. Ideal candidates are trustworthy, reliable, and enjoy being active outdoors. Flexibility in hours is required, with a pay rate of £14.75 for about 5 hours per week. Experience with autistic children is preferred. A National Insurance number and DBS check will be necessary.

A Little About Myself

I am a 18 year old boy who has Autism, and I am looking for 2 personal assistants to take me out and keep me safe in the community and take me to activities of my choice. I am a very happy young energetic man with a good sense of humour. I have limited speech but I can say and ask for things when I have built a good friendship. I believe in kindness and trust. I can get anxious when I am not comfortable.

Purpose of Job

To keep me safe at all times

Assist with me with personal care and prompting

Place of Work

Out in the community take me to places I enjoy

Hours of Work

5 hours a week 2-1

Monday Wednesday Saturday or a Sunday initially any of these days and flexibility will be required

Rate of Pay

£14.75

Tasks Involved

• Take me for long walks
• Play Football with me
• Visit Leisure Centres
• Other Activities of my choice

About the Job

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weeks. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
