Job description

Join our dedicated Catering team at the Link Academy! We are looking for a hardworking individual to assist with food preparation, service, and the cleaning of kitchen and dining areas. This is a physical role involving cooking vegetables, preparing salads, helping with main meals and desserts, serving food, and maintaining hygiene standards.

Responsibilities include washing up, cleaning equipment and premises, and ensuring dietary requirements are met. You will follow health and safety procedures and contribute to a clean, safe environment. We are seeking reliable, team-focused candidates committed to excellent hygiene practices. The working pattern for this role is Thursday and Friday, 10am to 3pm.

The Link Academy is located in Netherton, Dudley, serving pupils from across central and eastern Dudley and neighboring Sandwell. With approximately 1,000 learners, the academy is currently recruiting at capacity. The principal, Emma Edwards-Morgan, an ex-pupil, shares the Trust’s goal to restore the school's reputation for excellence.

GCSE results have improved for four consecutive years, with the proportion of learners achieving Grade 5 or higher in English and Mathematics rising from 23% to 41%. Student progress is now well above the national average.

An Ofsted report in 2022 rated The Link Academy as ‘Good’ across all areas—an achievement only twelve schools attained in the previous decade.
