Overview

Catering Assistant Manager

We are seeking a motivated and organised Catering Assistant Manager to join our busy campus café team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills and a passion for great service to support the smooth day-to-day running of our catering operation.

Responsibilities
  • Overseeing café operations, including pricing, rota planning, staff cover, and resolving day-to-day issues.
  • Supporting the training of new starters, ensuring team members are confident in customer service, basic cooking tasks, and café standards.
  • Managing staff holidays, wish lists, progression chats, recruitment, and ongoing staff development.
  • Handling catering banking, ad-hoc charges, stock ordering, and supplies management to keep the café running efficiently.
  • Supporting document control, updating procedures, and note-taking, while working closely with the LC to ensure compliance.
Qualifications / Attributes
  • Adaptable and approachable, with a proactive, organised approach to work.
  • Strong leadership skills and a passion for great service; ability to support staff with reasonable requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in training, staff development, or supervision is desirable.
