Post Title: Catering Assistant
Responsible to: Kitchen Manager
Location: Bury based schools
Salary: Grade 1 SCP 2-3 £24,413-£24,796 Full time equivalent.
Actual salary will depend upon hours worked.

Term of Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Term Time Only
Hours per week: Part Time between 10 and 22 hours per week
Closing date: 1st February 2026

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals for pupils and cozinha staff.
  • Set up dining areas and support school hospitality events.
  • Ensure high standards of food presentation and allergen awareness.
  • Keep kitchens and equipment spotless.
  • Keep a flexible and enthusiastic attitude, working across Bury schools as support is needed most.

  • Ability to work within a team with a flexible approach.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Good communication skills and ability to relate well with others.
  • Self‑initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Capacity to stand for long periods, lift trays and work in a hot environment.
