Cedar are supporting a Public Sector client based in Essex who are looking to hire a Category Manager for their Operations and Fleet requirements. This is a permanent job opportunity offering a salary ranged from £50,000 up to £53,400 per annum plus a range of Public Sector Benefits. This role will operate on a hybrid working basis with the expectation to be on-site 3 days per week and the remaining 2 days with the option to work from home.

Reporting into the Head of Procurement the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing specific category strategies in the Operations and Fleet category and will be hands on with running end to end procurements through Frameworks and Open Procedure processes. The focus of the role will be to ensure continual value for money and compliance, in line with the new Procurement Act 2023. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing key relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers to help achieve ongoing value.

Candidates applying MUST HAVE:
  • Strong background working in the Public Sector in a Procurement, Category or Commercial Management role
  • Experience in Operations and / or Fleet categories would be advantageous but is not required - experience in a range of categories would be beneficial

End to end Procurement experience and use of Frameworks such as CCS, YPO, ESPO etc. is required.
