Assistant Case Manager (Case Aide)

Job Location: 333 N. 8TH AVE., SAFFORD, AZ 85546. Salary: $17.34/hour. Grade: 14. Closing Date: 12/17/2025.

WHAT DOES AN ASSISTANT CASE MANAGER (CASE AIDE) DO?

A DCS Assistant Case Manager (Case Aide) works in the field, in collaboration with the case management team, and provides a variety of services to families and children in various social service programs.

  • Assisting clients as outlined by the assigned case manager
  • Providing services to individuals and families in various social service programs within the Department of Child Safety (DCS)
  • Transporting clients as needed, including handling and installing child safety seating
  • Arranging client appointments
  • Supervising visits between parents and children
  • Referring clients to appropriate community resources
  • Participating in Foster Care Review Board meetings, court hearings and other meetings as required
  • Documenting observations and interactions with clients in DCS case management system
  • Providing case management assistance and providing clerical support as needed

Alternative work hours may be required, including overtime, weekends and holidays.

WHAT KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES ARE HELPFUL?
Knowledge of:
  • Computers and software (Microsoft Office Suite), mobile devices, digital calendars (Outlook) & video conferencing (Microsoft Teams)

  • Prepare written reports accurately in a prescribed format
  • Actively listen and provide supportive attention to clients
  • Acquire and renew CPR certification
SELECTIVE PREFERENCE
  • The ideal candidate will have college experience with credit hours in child development, rehabilitation, counseling, psychology, social services, sociology or related field.
WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE AN ASSISTANT CASE MANAGER (CASE AIDE)?
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Pass a background investigation and DCS Central Registry check
  • Maintain acceptable driving records and complete required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2‑10‑207.12)
  • Position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job; comply with Driver’s License Requirements
