Senior Construction Team Leader / Senior Carpenter Team Leader
Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes

Grade TPB5, £43,026 - £50,491 plus £1,750 allowance and excellent benefits, including Civil Service pension.

We are seeking a qualified Carpenter and Joiner with extensive construction experience to lead a multi‑skilled trade team across UK and overseas projects. You will manage pre‑construction activities, buildability, material and tool procurement, health, safety and governance, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate a trade team on domestic and overseas construction projects, including secure government buildings and diplomatic missions.
  • Plan jobs and pre‑construction activities, translate technical drawings, and use computer programmes to identify buildability and required resources.
  • Ensure health, safety, and governance expectations are embedded in all activities.
  • Deliver projects on schedule and within budget while maintaining security for UK interests.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Carpenter and Joiner with demonstrated site management experience.
  • Experience guiding teams and managing complex construction challenges.
  • Knowledge of Construction Design Management requirements and ability to translate technical drawings.
  • Willingness to travel overseas up to 24 weeks each year, with secure travel for up to 8 weeks per trip.
  • All employees must be security cleared; the role requires Developed Vetting (DV).
