Job description

Primary School Caretaker

Location: Liverpool
Contract: Temporary
Salary: £13.69 - £15.00 per hour
Start Date: As soon as possible

Responsibilities
  • Opening and closing the school premises, including securing buildings and grounds
  • Carrying out routine maintenance, repairs and minor DIY tasks
  • Ensuring health and safety standards are met at all times
  • Maintaining cleanliness of external areas and supporting cleaning staff as required
  • Monitoring heating, lighting and water systems
  • Managing deliveries and setting up rooms for school activities and events
  • Reporting faults, damage or health and safety concerns promptly
  • Liaising with contractors and overseeing work on site
Ideal Candidate
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply
  • Previous caretaking, maintenance or site management experience (school experience desirable but not essential)
  • Good practical and DIY skills
  • Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures
  • A proactive, flexible and dependable approach to work
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and organisational skills
