An educational institution in Rotherham is seeking a full-time Caretaker to ensure campus safety and cleanliness. The role involves a variety of responsibilities including maintaining buildings, assisting with events, and ensuring health and safety regulations are met. Prior maintenance or security experience is desired, and candidates should hold or be willing to work towards a Level 2 qualification in English and Maths. Hours; Full time (37hrs per week, all year round) on a shift pattern basis of morning and afternoons
Duration; Temporary until June 2026
Salary; £24,930 - £25,456 per annum + benefits
Location; Rotherham College, Rotherham
Our Caretakers fulfil a key role at the College by ensuring that all buildings are available, accessible and suitable for the use of learners, staff and visitors. This role is critical to ensuring that we have a safe, clean and welcoming campus environment. Your role and how you deal with people in a professional and friendly way will shape staff and visitor’s views of the overall look and feel of the College Campus.
You will have prior experience of working in a maintenance/security/caretaking role or similar (ideally within education but this is not essential). You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths or be willing to work towards.
You will report to the Estates and Facilities Management Team and work co-operatively with colleagues across all College Campuses and premises.
