About the Role

Careers and Employability Advisor – fixed term contract from October 2025 to July 2026. Available at Angel Centre and Kings Cross Centre. In this role you will collaborate with the EEC Manager, curriculum teams and external partners to design and deliver a careers programme that meets the Matrix Standard and Gatsby Benchmarks. You will deliver one‑to‑one guidance, targeted group sessions, careers fairs, employer masterclasses and university visits. You will help learners build the skills and confidence they need for the workplace while championing widening participation.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver personalised careers guidance that empowers students to make informed, ambitious choices.
  • Design and coordinate engaging employability and enrichment activities that bring the world of work to life.
  • Work across a diverse community of learners, from school leavers to adult returners, including those with ESOL and SEND needs.
  • Provide one‑to‑one careers guidance tailored to individual needs.
  • Deliver group sessions on HE pathways, apprenticeships, employability and enterprise.
  • Advise students on Student Finance and bursary support options.
  • Coordinate careers events, workshops and university visits.
  • Develop digital and print resources to support students’ career planning.
About you

Ideally you hold a Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance (or equivalent), or you are working towards Level 6, and you have experience working in a similar educational setting. You are a confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students from a range of backgrounds.

Qualifications

A clear understanding of post‑18 pathways, including UCAS, apprenticeships and vocational routes is essential. You will be able to engage with groups of students, deliver in classroom settings and represent the service to employers, universities and other stakeholders.
