Job description

Are you a passionate, qualified Careers Advisor who wants to make a real difference? Do you have a passion for motivating and inspiring young people? If so then this could be the role for you.

Gateshead Council Careers Team want to recruit an experienced professional to provide impartial careers information, advice and guidance for a caseload of targeted young people to support their progression into and retention in employment, education and training.

Role

Deliver one‑to‑one and group careers guidance, supporting clients to realise their career aspirations. Work flexibly and independently, demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and uphold safeguarding responsibilities.

Qualifications
  • Experience working with targeted groups aged 15‑18, including vulnerable groups, NEET, care experienced, and those with special education needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Experience providing careers guidance in one‑to‑one settings or group workshops.
  • Level 6 qualification in careers information, advice and guidance.
  • In‑depth knowledge of education, employment, labour market information, training and personal development opportunities in the Northeast region.
  • Ability to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure and other recruitment checks.
