Roles: Careers Advisor. Location: Northampton, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. Start Date: October 2025. Contract: Full-Time Term-Time or Full Year Long-Term / Permanent. Salary: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.

We are recruiting a dedicated Careers Advisor to join a forward-thinking college in Northampton this October. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in careers guidance, student support, or employability coaching to make a real impact.

Role

As a Careers Advisor, you will provide impartial, high-quality careers advice to students across a wide range of courses. You\'ll work both one-to-one and with groups to support progression into university, apprenticeships, training or employment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver 1:1 careers guidance sessions and create tailored action plans
  • Run workshops on CV writing, job searching, interview prep, and UCAS applications
  • Support whole-college initiatives including careers fairs, guest speaker events, and employer engagement
  • Build and maintain strong links with local employers, training providers, and universities
  • Stay informed on labour market trends and further education routes
  • Keep accurate records and contribute to destination tracking and student progress reviews
What We\'re Looking For
  • Level 6 qualification in Careers Guidance (or working towards it) preferred
  • Background in education, youth work, or employability
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with young people
  • Confident delivering advice in both group and 1:1 settings
  • Proactive, organised, and able to manage your own workload
