Job description

We are looking for a Bank Care Support Worker to work at our residential care home based in Heeley, S2.

Hours: Bank work, various hours available per week.

Shift Pattern: 8:00pm to 8:00am, including weekends (usually alternate) and bank holiday work.

Pay: £13.90 per hour (includes £1.50 holiday uplift).

All new team members are required to attend an induction at our training room in S13 prior to starting work in the care home. These are run every three weeks, starting on a Monday between 9:30am until 3:30pm.

The job role
  • To support and assist our residents within our care home to live as independently as possible
  • To empower people to make their own decisions and choices
  • To provide support with personal care (e.g. washing, going to the bathroom, dressing, eating and drinking)
  • To offer physical and emotional support to our residents
  • To help our residents participate with daily living tasks and activities
  • To encourage engagement of our residents in social and wellbeing activities
  • To assist with health care and personal appointments
  • Only where trained to do so, to administer medication
  • To undertake manual handling, using equipment when required
  • To support positive relationships with our residents, their family, colleagues and professionals
  • To record care using mobile technology
  • To uphold the Sheffcare values
  • To implement and uphold safe working practices in line with our regulations and our policies and procedures
  • To attend regular training where required
