Main Duties of the Job

As a Care Assistant at Hempstalls Hall Care Home in Newcastle‑under‑Lyme, you will be responsible for delivering high standards of personal care to residents, contributing fully to the care team to ensure continuity of services. Your duties include assisting residents with personal hygiene, recognising and understanding clinical risk areas, acting courteously towards residents and visitors, and practicing safe systems of work.

Package Description

Shift Details: Two shifts are available – 7:30 AM to 9:30 PM and 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene, ensuring optimum independence, dignity, and respect at all times.
  • Recognise and understand clinical risk areas such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls, and signs of infections, and escalated any identified risks promptly.
  • Act courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting their dignity and individuality.
  • Practice safe systems of work across the range of tasks.
Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills – both verbal and written. 
  • Demonstrated initiative and respect towards residents and peers.
  • Efficient worker capable of following reasonable instructions from team members.
  • Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities on short notice.
