Job summary

Job description

This is an exciting time to join the team in Cardiac Investigations here at North Bristol NHS Trust. The Consultant team is expanding to enhance the services we offer. We provide complex device implantation and follow‑up, including CRT‑p, CRT‑d and CSP pacing. We hold BSE Departmental Accreditation for Adult TTE, TOE and are a designated training centre. The cardiology physiology staff group, where this post fits, has seen significant investment, with a new catheter lab commissioned in April 2023 and plans to expand into a second hybrid lab for device procedures. We also have a robust replacement programme for our echo machines – new GE machines and a new reporting system.

Responsibilities
  • Rotate through areas of cardiology, including catheter labs, exercise tolerance testing, tilt tests, tape analysis, device follow‑up, remote monitoring follow‑up and device implant.
  • Maintain and develop skills across all these areas, ensuring competence in complex echocardiographic and physiology procedures.
  • Work 37.5 hours per week over six days on an 8 am to 6 pm pattern.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A BSc in Cardiac Physiology (or equivalent) – essential.
  • A suitable qualification in echocardiography (BSE or equivalent) – essential.
  • Experience in cardiac physiology and echocardiography – advantage.
  • RCCP, AHCS or HCPC registration – desirable.
  • Professional registration details evidence (if applicable).
