Playground Games is seeking an Experienced Capture Artist to join the media team on Fable on a contract basis.
ABOUT US:

As a first-party Xbox Game Studio, we are passionate about making genre-defining games that are accessible, beautiful, and, most of all, fun. We are excited to be rebooting the much-loved Fable franchise and are expanding our diverse team to create a new classic in the action RPG genre.

About the role:

Your expertise will encompass a broad range of key areas, including game capture, cinematography and video editing. You should possess strong skills in storytelling, cinematic theory, lighting, framing, and composition, along with a deep understanding of contemporary marketing video trends.

This is a contract role based at our state-of-the-art facilities in Royal Leamington Spa. We have a hybrid work model in place with a minimum of 3 days a week in studio. Relocation assistance is available if required.

What you’ll do:
  • Capture high-quality game footage and screenshots from various platforms including Console, PC, and directly from the game engine.
  • Collaborate closely with content teams to stage, compose, sequence, and capture compelling game material.
  • Edit and produce engaging content using game footage for both internal presentations and external marketing purposes.
  • Work with content teams to concept and develop the visual style of marketing assets, ensuring consistency and alignment with brand standards.
  • Create a variety of external materials, including promotional videos, trailers, social media content, and other marketing assets.
  • Review and refine video content based on feedback from stakeholders, ensuring high standards of quality and alignment with creative vision.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve the quality of our video content.
What you’ll bring:
  • Proven experience in post-production within the game or film industry.
  • Deep knowledge of video editing terminology, workflows, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise Adobe Creative Suite products (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, etc.) to create high-quality video assets.
  • Experience with video compositing and motion graphics is preferred.
  • Highly skilled in game capture, cinematography, lighting & editorial.
  • Familiarity with cinematic or sequencing tools (Unreal, Unity, Motion Builder etc.)
  • Strong ability to take constructive feedback and incorporate it into revisions, ensuring final assets meet all project requirements.
