Team/Role Overview

Capital Planning and Management is a division that owns the enterprise-wide capital planning and management processes for Citigroup and its legal entities, and ensures integrity and efficiency of Citigroup and CBNA capital profiles on both an actual and forecasted basis, across the capital continuum from BAU through simulated stress environments consistent with CCAR and QMMF assumptions.

What you'll do

Capital Planning and Management organises and manages the enterprise\'s capital planning and management processes which inform the Strategic Plan. The role is fundamental to ensuring the safety and soundness of Citigroup and the financial system in the US and globally and therefore also plays a key leadership role in the enterprise\'s Recovery & Resolution Planning. All enterprise decisions affecting return, risk appetite, risk levels, and capital maintenance are within the remit of this role at Citigroup.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the design and execution of Citigroup\'s, Citibank N.A. (CBNA)\'s, and other regulated entities\' planning process for Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA) and capital actions (e.g., dividends and buybacks), including through the determination of capital targets (e.g., Target CET1 ratios) and calibration of components such as Stress Loss Risk Appetite and Management Buffers.
  • Forecast Risk Weighted Assets (for Advanced and Standardised Approaches), capital levels and associated capital ratios.
  • Collaborate with the Controller and the controller team responsible for calculating and reporting RWAs.
  • Determine proposed dividends and buybacks, including dividends from subsidiary Citi and CBNA entities.
  • Determine and execute actions impacting RWA and/or buybacks/dividends to ensure Citigroup, CBNA, and other regulated entities meet all required capital targets.
  • Establish RWA and GSIB capacities and guidelines consistent with required capital targets.
  • Monitor adherence to such capacities/guidelines through governance forums and identify when changes are needed due to market, competitive, or other factors.
  • Recommend and obtain approval for changes through appropriate governance forums; ensure compliance with targets for month and quarter end periods.
  • Manage design and execution of ICAAP and Quarterly Multi-Quarter, Multi-Scenario Forecasting (QMMF) processes.
  • Determine scenario objectives and design; design and develop CCAR/QMMF models and related infrastructure, process and controls.
  • Execute forecast calculations with review, challenge and governance; analyze key risk drivers and implications for balance sheet and risk management.
Education and Qualifications
  • Foundational knowledge of banking products and systems.
  • Foundational knowledge of relevant systems, theories and practices with experience across multiple business cycles.
  • Excellent communication skills to influence a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to navigate a large organisation to streamline and summarize information and create repeatable processes.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills to identify conflicts and coordinate cross-team solutions.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to plan ahead and translate into effective strategies.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment and work well in a team.
Education
  • At a minimum, a Bachelor\'s degree from a recognised higher education institution.
  • Preference for a degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
