Job summary

A community organization in Scotland is looking for a motivated Cafe Operative to manage the daily operation of their cafe. The successful candidate should have cafe experience, strong cooking skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities include preparing food, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining hygiene standards. This position offers 28 hours of work from Thursday to Sunday at a pay rate of £13.50 per hour.

Qualifications

We’re Hiring: Cafe Operative

Location: Twechar Healthy Living and Enterprise Centre

Hours: Weekends - Thursday through to Sunday 28 hours

Start Date: Immediate star available

Are you reliable, confident, and passionate about great food and friendly service? We’re looking for a motivated Cafe All-Rounder who can take responsibility for the full daily operation of our cafe both within a team and independently.

What You’ll Do

• Prepare and cook cafe menu items to a consistent, high standard
• Open and close the cafe, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and correctly
• Deliver excellent customer service with a warm, welcoming approach
• Operate the till, handle cash/card payments, and manage basic admin duties
• Maintain food hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards at all times
• Support the smooth running of the cafe during busy periods
• Confidently run the café on your own, including cooking, service, and closing down when required
