Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a CAD Technician for a role focused on designing and modifying control systems and electrical hardware. Candidates must be proficient in AutoCAD Electrical, have a solid understanding of control circuits, and possess experience with PLCs and DCSs. This permanent position is based near Stoke-On-Trent, offering 37 hours of work per week. Applicants must be eligible for SC Security Clearance.

Qualifications

• Capability to design and modify control circuit drawings is essential.
• Knowledge of IEC BS EN 60439-1 is required.

The Role

This role will be working primarily with CAD work, undertaking as-builts or modifying drawings according to mark ups plus converting/redrawing from PDF's or TIFFs. All candidates MUST have a good understanding of control systems and control circuits. For the suitable candidate designing electrical hardware systems mainly using proprietary hardware components for control panels, site surveying and scope identification, requirements capture and assisting with test and commissioning activities may also be included.

Main Responsibilities

• Designing/Working with control systems and control circuits.
• Designing Electrical Hardware Systems including Control Panels, PLC's, DCS's etc.
• Working with AUTOCAD Electrical Software.
• Undertaking as builts and modifying drawings according to mark ups.

Experience / Qualifications

• All candidates MUST have working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
• All candidates MUST have capability to Design and modify instrument loops drawings and control circuit drawings.
• You will have knowledge of electrical panels containing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's) and/or DCS.
• You will have knowledge of Motor Control Centres, Motor Control Gear, Instrumentation and IEC BS EN 60439-1.
• All candidates MUST have good working knowledge of Control, Electrical & Instrumentation circuits.
• You will be able to Develop technical solutions to meet project and customer expectations.

Other Desirable Experience / Quals

• Experience of Electrical Design/Installation/Test/Commissioning documentation and activities - Desirable.
• Working understanding of BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regs - Desirable.
• Understanding of IEC BS EN 60439-1 Low voltage switchgear and control gear assemblies - Desirable.
