Overview

CAD Technician – Shepshed, Leicestershire • £36,000 - £42,000 DOE

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate drawings for construction projects and manufacturing.
• Complete project specific drawings within agreed timescales and to the relevant product standard.
• Prepare manufacture drawings for bespoke products.
• Work with the design, sales, estimating, operations, and installation teams to provide technical advice.
• Offer proactive solutions to construction challenges.
• Familiarise with suppliers, specifications and prices.
• Liaise directly with customers to provide accurate project drawings to their timelines.
• Keep up to date with relevant British Standards.
• Support project delivery at every stage to ensure deadlines are met.
• Ensure client specifications and requirements are taken into account when producing project drawings.
• Provide advice to subcontract labour to ensure delivery onsite is as per the approved design and compliant with all regulations and British Standards.
• Provide support to colleagues within the design team.
• Any other reasonable duties within your skills and capabilities as directed by your manager.

KPIs

• Provisional drawings to be issued within 3 working days.
• Drawing revisions to be issued within 2 working days.
• Construction drawings issued within 1 working day.
• As Built Drawings issued within 3 working days.

Experience / Knowledge

• BSc in a construction design discipline (preferable).
• AutoCAD proficiency (essential).

Subsidiary duties

• Administrative duties as suitable within the design department.
