Job summary

A tech solutions company is seeking a C++ Tool Developer to work on a Design and Verification Tool for 4G/5G projects. The role requires 7+ years of C++ programming experience and an engineering degree. Responsibilities include software development for GUI, backend systems, and collaboration with various teams. This position is on-site in Reading and offers a contract for 12 months.

Qualifications

• 7+ years work experience in C++ programming, preferably in telecoms.
• Basic understanding of RF performance metrics is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of production ATE environment and statistical spread is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the GUI frontend and backend systems.
• Interact with various teams for calibration procedures.
• Provide broad technical expertise and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage GUI interfaces and documentation updates.

Job Title : C++ Tool Developer

Location : Reading, South East, UK

Type : Contract

Duration : 12 Months

Inside IR35 / / No Sponsorship Available / / On-site working required

Be part of the team developing a Design and Verification Tool to support multiple HW / RF projects for our 4G / 5G portfolio, this is developed in C++

Responsibilities :

Software development and maintenance of GUI frontend, XML / SQL backend, RF equipment interface, RF tests and chipset calibration...

Software postprocessing & visual interface : plotting / PFC

Interact with various teams like Software Platform team for RF drivers and interfaces, Hardware Platform team for calibration procedures, Validation team.

Provide broad technical expertise, analyse issues & isolate bugs whether FW, tool, test equipment or HW regression

Propose future evolutions needs, advise prioritisation and implement changes

Manage GUI interface, documentation updates and be responsive to fix issues as they arise

Use Excel templates and macros to generate test reports

Requirements :

Engineering degree / MSc in Computing, Maths or Engineering

Language C+ - Windows / Linux development

7+ years work experience in C++ programming (working on ATE tools in telecoms environment a plus)

ATE troubleshooting and problem solving

Understanding JSON / SQL

wxWidgets or QT is a plus

Basic Understanding RF performance metrics highly desirable

Understanding of LTE / 5G testing is a plus

Knowledge of production ATE environment, sockets, timing constraints, statistical spread, RMA is a plus
