Job summary

A leading tech recruitment agency is seeking a C++ Tool Developer for a 12-month contract in Reading, UK. This role requires a focus on software development for GUI interfaces, backend integration, and RF equipment interaction. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of C++ programming experience, preferably in an ATE environment, and an engineering degree. Responsibilities include isolating bugs, maintaining software documentation, and managing technical requirements. On-site work is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in C++ programming, preferably in an ATE environment.
• Understanding of Windows/Linux development.
• Basic knowledge of RF performance metrics is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain GUI frontend, XML/SQL backend, and RF equipment interfaces.

Job Title: C++ Tool Developer

Responsibilities

• Software development and maintenance of GUI frontend, XML/SQL backend, RF equipment interface, RF tests and chipset calibration…
• Software postprocessing & visual interface: plotting/PFC
• Interact with various teams like Software Platform team for RF drivers and interfaces, Hardware Platform team for calibration procedures, Validation team.
• Provide broad technical expertise, analyse issues & isolate bugs whether FW, tool, test equipment or HW regression
• Propose future evolutions needs, advise prioritisation and implement changes
• Manage GUI interface, documentation updates and be responsive to fix issues as they arise
• Use Excel templates and macros to generate test reports

Requirements

• Engineering degree/MSc in Computing, Maths or Engineering
• Language C+ - Windows/Linux development
• 7+ years work experience in C++ programming (working on ATE tools in telecoms environment a plus)
• ATE troubleshooting and problem solving
• Understanding JSON/SQL
• wxWidgets or QT is a plus
• Basic Understanding RF performance metrics highly desirable
• Understanding of LTE/5G testing is a plus
• Knowledge of production ATE environment, sockets, timing constraints, statistical spread, RMA is a plus
