Overview

We are looking for a Buying Assistant to join our Indirect Procurement Team where you will support our Indirect Buyer with first‑class administration skills while working closely with our indirect goods and services suppliers.

Autosmart International is a manufacturing success story. Leading the field in vehicle cleaning products we are the No.1 choice of automotive trade customers across the UK. We have doubled in size in the last 10 years with a strategic plan to grow by 50% in the next 5 years. To sustain and underpin our growth we have invested over 35 million in a brand new 5‑acre warehouse and state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing site in Burntwood, Staffordshire.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Buyer to maintain a steady supply of quality, cost‑effective goods and services from approved suppliers.
  • Foster strong and effective working relationships with suppliers to deliver savings and process efficiencies for indirect spend categories.
  • Assist the Buyer to negotiate, agree, manage and measure supplier performance against defined SLAs.
  • Manage Indirect Procurement Administration (raising and monitoring purchase orders, delivery and service queries, ordering consumables, collecting data and maintaining records on our ERP system – IFS).
  • Participate in a diverse range of procurement and supply chain projects.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across all departments.
Qualifications
  • Procurement experience in a similar position.
  • Administration experience in a busy customer/client‑facing team.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build lasting working relationships internally and externally.
  • A natural curiosity with a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and a passion for continuous improvement.

  • ERP system experience with strong administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills.
