Job description

Our client, a well-established and growing retail group, is seeking a Buyer's Assistant to support their Womenswear division. A brilliant opportunity for someone looking to develop a long-term career in fashion buying within a collaborative and supportive environment! This is a part-time position (20-35 hours per week).

Duties
  • Supporting the Buyer in the coordination of product development, sampling and delivery processes.
  • Preparing and managing samples for internal meetings and fit sessions.
  • Assisting with supplier communication including sending tech packs, approving trims and tracking orders.
  • Participating in product fit reviews and ensuring readiness of all materials.
  • Contributing to range planning and analysing sales data to inform future buying decisions.
  • Conducting packaging and labelling checks on incoming products.
  • Responding to store queries with accurate and friendly communication.
  • Developing awareness of the retail calendar and seasonal product launches.
  • Monitoring fashion trends and competitor activity to generate fresh ideas.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in fashion and an eagerness to learn the ins and outs of retail buying. No prior experience is required, though some academic or informal exposure to fashion would be beneficial. Applicants should be detail-oriented, organised and collaborative, with strong communication skills and a can-do attitude. This position is ideal for a recent graduate, school leaver or individual looking to enter the industry with full training and support provided.
