Our client is a growing international engineering company based in Newport NP10.

As a Buyer, you’ll be joining a team that values autonomy, initiative, and straight‑line execution. If you want a role where your supplier decisions, negotiation skills and market insight genuinely shift the number, not just fill a process, this is it.

This is a hands‑on role in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment, where accuracy, commercial sharpness and follow‑through are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms and commercial conditions.
  • Forecast market trends affecting material costs and availability.
  • Run commodity and price comparison analyses; identify cost‑saving opportunities.
  • Source new suppliers and alternative materials in collaboration with technical teams.
  • Maintain accurate lead times, purchase requisitions and supply programmes.
  • Resolve rejected materials, ensure credits, and minimise exposure to MOQs / price increases.
  • Proactively collaborate with production, engineering and planning teams.
  • Support continuous improvement across purchasing and supply chain processes.
  • Ensure compliance with H&S and company codes of conduct.
  • Monitor and control excess stock and cost.
