Job description

In our Buyer role you’ll be sourcing and procuring goods and services that deliver the best value, ensuring quality, cost‑efficiency and timely delivery. You’ll work closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders and the procurement team to put in place contracts that support operational needs and strategic procurement objectives.

Location: Hybrid, minimum of 1 day per week in our Peterborough or Boston office with some travel as and when required.

Salary: Up to £42,200 per year

Contract: Fixed‑Term 12 Month Contract covering maternity leave

Your week: 36.25 hours per week (9am‑5.15pm Monday to Friday with 1‑hour lunch)

This is what your day will look like as our Buyer
  • Full end‑to‑end process buyer role responsible for pre‑contract contract negotiations and contract management.
  • Managing contract and purchases administration.
  • Support the wider procurement team where required.
  • Analysing data and creating purchasing options and recommendations for the business.
  • Creating then managing and running competitions, RFQs and framework call‑offs.
Your toolkit for success
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and buying processes.
  • Understands and is responsive to the issues and dynamics involved in the procurement process and business changes.
  • Proficiency in Excel and financial operation systems.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills.
