A local government authority in Kettering is looking for a Business Support Officer to support the Educational Inclusion and Partnerships Team. Overview

Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, North Northamptonshire Council, on a temporary basis for a Business Support Officer to support the Educational Inclusion and Partnerships Team to fulfil the statutory duties of the local authority pertaining to children and young people of statutory school age including Elective home Education (EHE), Children Missing Education (CME), Child Employment and Entertainment (CEE).

Location and terms

Location: Kettering, Northamptonshire, NN16 0SW

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm with 30 minutes unpaid break.

Working basis: Onsite full time.

Rate of pay: £14.60 per hour PAYE.

Duration: Temporary basis, sickness cover, 3 months with potential to extend.

Excel test will be part of the interview process.

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling and co-ordination of own work, taking responsibility for the completion of tasks within internal, external, and statutory timescales.
  • Recording, maintaining, updating and analysis of reports and records for caseloads.
  • Act as first point of contact for electronic and telephone queries.
  • Monitoring the general inbox, ensuring timely and appropriate responses to incoming queries. Triaging the messages and directing them to the relevant departments.
  • Supporting safeguarding and complying within statutory Council Policies and Procedures.
Essential Experience / Qualifications
  • Previous experience within working in administrative roles.
  • Previous experience within working in a school/educational setting is beneficial, not essential.
  • Previous experience working within a busy office environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to working onsite 5 days a week.
  • Good skills using Microsoft Applications, including Teams, Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Good organisational, multitasking and prioritising skills.
