MAIN ACTIVITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide analytical insights and non-binding recommendations to support strategic discussions led and decided by senior management.
- Conduct high-level market intelligence analysis to identify commercial opportunities and risks in the Americas region, particularly in countries where the Group does not have a direct presence.
- Provide market intelligence analysis and informational input on market dynamics and supply chain trends for consideration by the Traders team and senior leadership.
- Interact with supporting functions such as Operations, Transportation, Legal, Finance, Strategy & Development, and business colleagues in other regions.
- Provide research, benchmarking and analytical support to Group entities in relation to international maritime flows, with all strategic decisions taken.
- Support the Traders team with administrative coordination and desk-based market research relating to existing and potential customers and suppliers.
- Analyze management indicators together with the leadership team and provide insights to enhance regional market intelligence, with a focus on service quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
- Work with regional market intelligence teams to provide research and commercial support to managers in the Americas region.
- Work on project development as needed.
Business Objectives
- Identify and analyze market trends, competitor activity and potential areas of interest, providing inputs for internal evaluation by decision-makers.
- Gather information to assess counterparty risks related to potential customers and suppliers.
- Conduct research and provide inputs to support the development of new business cases for potential transactions.
- Assist the trading team with administrative and market intelligence support to strengthen long-term relationships with potential and existing business partners.
Risk management
- Ensure strict compliance with the Holcim Code of Conduct, company policies, and local regulations governing the Mexican entity.
- Contribute to protecting the Holcim Group's reputation and brand value in relevant maritime business activities.
- Provide support for proper evaluation of suppliers and market conditions, ensuring alignment with company standards.
Key interfaces, stakeholders and relationships
- Within the Holcim and its business allies.
- Engage with business allies, industry participants and regulatory bodies strictly for information-gathering, relationship-maintenance and market intelligence purposes, without negotiating or representing the Parent Company in commercial matters.
REQUIRED PROFILE
Educational background / qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or international trade.
Required experience: min. 10 years of experience in commercial and maritime trade.
Industry Expertise in Cement & Construction Materials: Must have prior experience in heavy industries with a strong understanding of global cement trade and supply chain logistics.

- Deep expertise in the cement and construction materials industry, including product properties, applications, and key market trends.
- Extensive experience in international maritime trade, shipping regulations, and logistics, with a strong understanding of risk management, contract structuring, and supply chain optimization.
- Deep understanding of regional geopolitical factors, economic trends, and their impact on global trade and market expansion.
- Ability to navigate internal Group dynamics and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Cultural and linguistic skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Mobility requirements: High travel requirement (approximately 50%, both international and domestic).
