Job description

We’re looking for a Business Improvement Specialist to join a dynamic Warehouse & Distribution division based in Telford — someone who thrives on problem-solving, streamlining processes, and driving change from the ground up.

The Role

You’ll be at the heart of continuous improvement across the warehousing and logistics operations of a large manufacturing company who distributes building products into the construction industry. From goods receipt to dispatch, you’ll identify, lead, and deliver projects that boost efficiency, accuracy, and performance. Working hand-in-hand with operational teams, you’ll turn data into action and ideas into results.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead improvement projects focused on receipt & replenishment, picking, dispatch, and logistics efficiency.
  • Champion lean tools including 5S, A3 problem solving, visual management, and continuous improvement frameworks.
  • Enhance WMS systems and optimise warehouse layouts.
  • Deliver measurable gains in pick accuracy, productivity, and inventory control.
  • Partner with teams across the business to challenge the status quo, cut waste, and deliver smarter, safer, faster ways of working.
  • Communicate project goals and results clearly, keeping everyone engaged and on board.
What You’ll Bring
  • Solid experience in business or operational improvement, ideally within warehousing, distribution, or logistics.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn insights into real-world results.
  • A collaborative, confident communicator who can influence at all levels.
  • Desirable: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and prior experience in a Business Improvement role.
About You
