A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Business Improvement Specialist for a dynamic Warehouse & Distribution division in Shrewsbury. The ideal candidate will lead projects to streamline processes, enhance WMS systems, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics operations. You should have solid experience in business improvement, particularly in warehousing or distribution, and be adept at using Lean methodologies. We’re looking for a Business Improvement Specialist to join a dynamic Warehouse & Distribution division based in Telford — someone who thrives on problem-solving, streamlining processes, and driving change from the ground up.
You’ll be at the heart of continuous improvement across the warehousing and logistics operations of a large manufacturing company who distributes building products into the construction industy. From goods receipt to dispatch, you’ll identify, lead, and deliver projects that boost efficiency, accuracy, and performance. Working hand-in-hand with operational teams, you’ll turn data into action and ideas into results.
Lead improvement projects focused on receipt & replenishment, picking, dispatch, and logistics efficiency.
Champion lean tools including 5S, A3 problem solving, visual management, and continuous improvement frameworks.
Enhance WMS systems and optimise warehouse layouts.
Deliver measurable gains in pick accuracy, productivity, and inventory control.
Partner with teams across the business to challenge the status quo, cut waste, and deliver smarter, safer, faster ways of working.
Communicate project goals and results clearly, keeping everyone engaged and on board.
Solid experience in business or operational improvement, ideally within warehousing, distribution, or logistics.
Working knowledge of Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement methodologies.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn insights into real-world results.
A collaborative, confident communicator who can influence at all levels.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and prior experience in a Business Improvement role.
