The role involves leading change projects, engaging stakeholders, and training staff on new approaches. Candidates should have a background in business improvement, be adaptable, and demonstrate fluency in spoken English. The position offers hybrid working opportunities, career development, and a supportive working environment with excellent benefits.
Would you like to work in a role which is both meaningful and rewarding, where you really feel that you make a difference? Do you constantly look for ways to improve the way you work and enhance services and outcomes? If so, this is the perfect role for you.
This is a great time to be part of Gloucestershire County Council, as Children’s Social Care is on an exciting journey, which focuses our approach into being more creative, strengths‑based, and person‑centred, to ensure that we work together to ‘Make a Difference’ to our local communities. We are an agile working organisation with a combination of office‑based working and working from home (essential equipment is provided). We place a high premium on diversity and inclusion, as well as on health and wellbeing and we offer a flexible working scheme which is based on business need. We offer Continued Professional Development and will support you to develop your skills and career prospects within Children’s Services.
We want to be an employer of choice, attracting and retaining excellent people to work for us, so that we can best serve all of Gloucestershire’s diverse communities.
Our promise to you is that we will provide an inclusive and supportive working environment that enables you to bring your whole self to work and realise your full potential.
We have an opportunity for someone with a background in business improvement or change and a passion for improving services for children and families. This post will also lead on change and improvement projects either as directed or in response to undertaking analysis of current processes and systems. These will relate to improving the experiences of the workforce and easing administrative or process pressures through adopting new software/hardware and improving performance or efficiency through change. Sat within the Business Support Service, the post holder will work closely with frontline staff and managers, hearing their views and creating positive solutions to working approaches which reduce time spent on administration tasks and improve efficiency for frontline staff to spend time with children and families.
As a Business Improvement Officer, you will be flexible and adaptable to a changing environment. You will model strong organisational skills, using project or change management methods to champion new ways of working and in engaging staff to help you to understand how we can improve our existing processes. Experience of working within local government and children’s services is desirable.
It is a legal requirement, under the Immigration Act 2016, that anyone appointed to a ‘customer facing role’ must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English.
Hybrid working arrangements are available for the majority of our roles, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice, with a mix of both remote and office working.
