Blue Legal are partnered with a highly successful, award winning global law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development Specialist, focusing on Private Equity, to join their London office. The role plays a pivotal role in advancing business development initiatives across London and Europe. Working under the Senior BD Manager, the BD Specialist collaborates closely with partners, lawyers, and BD teams worldwide to support the firm’s strategic goals and strengthen its market presence.
The Responsibilities:
- Support the development, coordination, and implementation of business and client development plans for the Private Equity practice, including budget tracking and internal reporting.
- Prepare pitches, proposals, capability statements, and tailored client-specific content through research and collaboration with London and US BD/PRAD teams.
- Assist with internal BD meetings and client-facing activities, including planning, execution, follow-up actions, and ROI tracking.
- Identify and support client initiatives and relationship-building opportunities, and maintain accurate records of client and BD activity.
- Deliver client, market, and competitor research in partnership with the Library research team, tailoring insights for partners and clients.
- Maintain and update go-to-market materials such as slide decks, bios, brochures, capability statements, and matter records in coordination with lawyers and Marcomms.
- Support profile-raising efforts, including thought leadership, industry updates, and submissions to directories, league tables, and awards.
- Assist with strategic planning and execution of events, conferences, sponsorships, and broader global/EU/London BD projects.
The Candidate:
- Strong academic background with at least three years’ business/client development experience in professional services; relevant BD/marketing qualifications and sector knowledge (Finance, Restructuring, Real Estate, UK/EU financial markets) are desirable.
- Proactive, collaborative team player who is flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently while delivering high-quality client service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, tailored client-facing materials for varied stakeholders.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, strong organisational and project management abilities, and proficiency with key software tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, InterAction).
