Overview

Are you passionate about growing profitable relationships with brokers? We're seeking an experienced and highly organised individual to join our Business Development team. You'll build and maintain a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and support in retaining our existing book of business. You'll take full ownership for generating profitable business and use your expertise to build, manage and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including all key customers and networks to deliver strategy and increase opportunities for the business.

AXA UK supports a flexible working approach, balancing time between home and office in a way that works for you, your team and our customers. You’ll typically be away from home (in London, with client visits or industry events) about 40% of the time, increasing to 60% in the future. Flexible working arrangements can be discussed with Talent Acquisition.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively develop relationships with a designated panel of London brokers, taking full ownership for the generation and retention of profitable business.
  • Build, manage and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and ensure a long-term pipeline and broker engagement.
  • Understand the nature of the brokers' business, the marketplace and the potential of the relationship. Communicate this to AXA colleagues.
  • Plan, forecast and set the operational targets to achieve the strategic development plan.
  • Identify new deals and markets, assess feasibility and project manage the implementation.
  • Promote and deploy AXA's strategy, product range, propositions and key differentiators to leverage commercial opportunities.
  • Undertake profit reviews to identify areas for improvement and lead conversations with brokers to agree actions to optimise profitability.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Good understanding of underwriting and risk management principles.
  • Established networking and relationship building skills.
  • Strong product knowledge.
  • Mid-market knowledge and generation experience.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to develop reciprocal relationships with intermediaries.
  • Awareness of profitability of business within the broker channel.
  • As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
