Business Development Manager - Home Textiles
An exciting opportunity for a Business Development Manager to work for a leading global market leader in home textiles has arisen.
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the company's strategy for omni-channel growth at key UK retailers like Tesco, B&M, B&Q, Sainsburys, The Range, etc., and for institutional sales activities. Responsibilities include strategy development, retail execution, maintaining and establishing long-term partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, setting sales targets, and fostering a sales culture focused on strategic account management to drive revenue growth, increase sales within existing and new accounts, grow market share, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Identifying New Sales Leads
- Drive sales and market share growth effectively.
- Attend conferences, meetings, and industry events.
- Research organizations and industry professionals to identify new leads and potential markets, reaching out to potential clients.
- Monitor, evaluate, report, and respond to market and competitor activity.
Pitching Products and Services
- Prepare and update market comparison shop reports across relevant product categories.
- Maintain weekly sample and order trackers.
- Coordinate with internal teams and factories to follow up on orders and inquiries.
- Create PowerPoint presentations and sales displays for meetings and trade shows.
- Arrange for samples to be sent to factories or customers.
- Inform clients about new product developments.
- Develop quotes and proposals.
- Maintain regular communication with team members and conduct strategic review sessions.
- Review product lines, submit quotes, and respond promptly to customer inquiries.
- Develop sales plans and ensure achievement of goals.
- Plan and execute account product placement and promotional programs.
Maintaining Customer Relationships
- Handle day-to-day queries from existing customers.
- Organize regular meetings with customers.
- Identify new opportunities within current accounts.
- Collaborate on seasonal product offerings with design and merchant teams.
- Track outstanding payments and claims, liaising with the finance team for resolution.
- Provide accurate reporting.
Personal Requirements
- Proven sales success in the home textiles industry.
- Experience selling to national retailers like Tesco, B&M, B&Q, Sainsbury's, The Range, etc.
- Maintain professional relationships ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and persuasion skills.
- Prompt and accurate reporting to management and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and programs.
