A growing independent Biotechnology company based in Nottingham is looking for a Business Development Manager. This role requires proven sales experience in the life sciences industry, particularly within CRO services. Candidates should have a PhD in life sciences and a strong client-focused approach to cultivate relationships. The position offers the opportunity to maintain a client base across multiple sectors and requires international travel.

Qualifications

  • PhD qualified with commercial experience in life sciences, histology, or IHC preferred.
  • Experience in business development in pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow customer accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop client base across Pharma/biotech/CRO sectors.
  • Arrange and conduct client visits in the UK, Europe, and US.
  • Generate project proposals based on client requirements.

Job description

CK Group is recruiting for a Business Development Manager, to join a growing independent Biotechnology company at their site based in Nottingham on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven sales experience in the Life Sciences/CRO space.

The Company

GLP accredited contract research laboratory, that provides Histology services to the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Sectors.

The Role

This is a client-facing role, and would suit a highly motivated individual with proven sales experience selling CRO services within the life sciences industry. Experience in histology is preferred, but training will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • To maintain and develop client base across the Pharma/biotech/CRO sectors
  • To arrange and undertake client visits throughout the UK, Europe and the US and be part of various exhibitions
  • To work with clients to understand their requirements and generate project proposals
  • To make appropriate connections with other services providers for potential collaboration opportunities
Qualifications
  • PhD qualified in life sciences or equivalent and commercial experience or prior sales background in histology and IHC preferred
  • Business development experience in pharmaceutical biotech and/or CRO space
  • Industrial experience in the biotech sector with knowledge of regulatory standards (GLP, ISO etc)
  • Demonstrated ability to grow customer accounts
  • Client focussed approach with the ability to build strong client relationships
  • Willingness to travel internationally
