Business Development Manager - Edinburgh/Fife (Motherwell Office)

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 + Car Allowance + Fuel Card + Up to 25% Bonus + Benefits

Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading contractor operating across Edinburgh and Fife. This role focuses on generating new business, managing key accounts, and driving branch revenue growth. If you have strong sales experience within services or construction and enjoy building long-term client relationships, this is an excellent opportunity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Generate new business and manage existing accounts to achieve turnover targets.
  • Spend approx. 40% of the week on new business development.
  • Monitor branch performance vs targets and develop action plans where required.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients across multiple sectors.
  • Attend industry events and support client meetings/entertainment.
  • Use the ERP system daily to plan calls, follow-ups, log opportunities and maintain accurate records.
  • Submit timely quotations and ensure clear communication with clients.
  • Complete Monthly Sales Reports and contribute to branch reviews.
  • Work closely with the bid team to support timely bid submissions.
  • Provide social media input to the Digital Marketing team.
  • Complete job completion surveys and support online reviews.
  • Chase outstanding opportunities and ensure opportunity data is accurate.
  • Build strong supply chain relationships (e.g., Dulux, Crown, PPG).
Experience & Skills Required
  • Experience managing multiple clients across varying sectors.
  • At least 1 year selling services to: Local Authorities, Housing Associations, Education, Health, Commercial, Retail & Leisure.
  • Sector experience with a Tier 1 Contractor (desirable).
  • Strong communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
  • Confident using CRM/ERP systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
