Taylor Stevenson is delighted to be partnering with a large logistics company that is currently recruiting for an experienced Business Development Manager to join their growing team.


Our client is a dynamic and expanding organisation within the logistics sector, working closely with customers to deliver tailored, cost-effective distribution solutions. Their focus is on providing efficient, reliable, end-to-end logistics services while building long-term partnerships with their customers.


About the Role

This role is responsible for the identification, development, and management of new client business within a challenging, fast-paced, and competitive market. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving new business acquisition in line with the company's agreed growth strategy.


Key Responsibilities


  • Identify new business opportunities to increase revenue in line with agreed commercial objectives

  • Build, manage, and maintain an active sales pipeline to achieve or exceed annual targets

  • Proactively prospect, develop, and nurture new client relationships using effective networking strategies

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality presentations and commercial proposals

  • Collaborate with the commercial team to develop efficient, cost-effective logistics solutions for prospective customers

  • Project manage new business wins and implementations, working closely with customers and internal operational teams

  • Plan and execute sales and marketing initiatives to grow revenue and expand the customer base

  • Work closely with the Marketing Manager to increase brand awareness across multiple platforms

  • Attend exhibitions and trade shows to promote the company's capabilities when required

  • Identify emerging markets and industry trends, maintaining awareness of competitor activity and new product developments

  • Provide management information and insights to support service improvements while maintaining and reducing costs

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders


Requirements


  • Proven experience in a Business Development or Sales role within the logistics, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain sector

  • Demonstrable track record of successfully winning new business and achieving or exceeding revenue targets

  • Strong understanding of end-to‑end logistics solutions, including warehousing, transport, and value‑added services

  • Experience managing a full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and qualification through to negotiation, close, and implementation

  • Ability to develop and present commercial proposals and tailored logistics solutions to prospective customers

  • Confident communicator with strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills

  • Highly organised, self‑motivated, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, competitive environment

  • Experience working collaboratively with internal teams such as operations, commercial, and marketing

  • Commercially astute with the ability to identify market opportunities, industry trends, and competitor activity

  • Proficient in using CRM systems and producing accurate sales forecasts and management information

  • Willingness to travel and attend client meetings, exhibitions, and trade shows as required

Salary: 40,000 - £45,000 (DOE) + commission + car allowance


Contract: Full-time, Permanent


Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00 (flexible)
