Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing strategies to generate new business opportunities within the arrears and collections market. You will play a crucial role in building relationships with creditors, understanding their portfolio requirements, and converting leads into successful commercial partnerships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, engage, and manage relationships with key clients, including banks, financial institutions, utilities, telcos, and other credit‑granting organisations.
  • Generate prospective leads through targeted outreach, networking, and market research, converting opportunities into contracted sales.
  • Represent the company at relevant trade exhibitions, industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
  • Ensure the company’s CRM system is updated with accurate, compliant, and timely data at all stages of the sales cycle.
  • Work closely with internal operational teams to support the onboarding of new portfolios and ensure client expectations are met.
  • Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and competitor activity within the debt recovery and debt purchase space.
About You
  • Proven experience in business development within debt purchase, debt recovery, credit management, financial services, or a related sector.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with senior decision‑makers.
  • Highly organised, target‑driven, and motivated to achieve commercial outcomes.
