Business Development Executive

Department: Marketing

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: York

Description

We are looking for a driven and entrepreneurial graduate to join our growing Business Development function. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment and is eager to play a key role in helping convert high-potential leads into long-term clients. You will be at the forefront of our growth strategy, engaging with prospects, initiating conversations and booking meetings, and supporting the wider team in building a scalable and structured business development process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and prioritise high-quality prospective clients by leveraging a range of data sources – including LinkedIn, news articles, awards, and professional networks.
  • Proactively contact and follow up with prospective clients via phone, email, and LinkedIn to secure introductory meetings with our investment managers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all interactions in our CRM system to ensure visibility and accountability across the pipeline.
  • Collaborate closely with investment managers to gather feedback on lead quality and progression, and help ensure timely follow-up actions are taken.
  • Support the development of structured outreach campaigns around key themes (e.g. wealth planning, business exits, intergenerational wealth).
  • Contribute to the ongoing refinement of our lead generation strategy by identifying new sources of prospects (e.g. LinkedIn, news articles, awards, charity and trustee networks).
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A recent graduate with a strong academic background and a genuine interest in private wealth management or financial services.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a proactive, can-do attitude and a willingness to take ownership of outcomes.
  • Strong communication skills – confident, articulate, and persuasive over the phone and in writing.
  • Resilience and persistence – comfortable with rejection and motivated by long-term goals.
  • A collaborative team player who understands the value of collective success over individual wins.
  • Ideally, some exposure to consulting, sales, or client-facing roles (internships or otherwise) is a plus.
