The Role

We are looking for this person to join a small team within the UK People Advisory business. Our senior consulting staff (of which there are currently three with plans to expand) are focused on delivering work for clients. This new role is designed to be the key support to this team – with its primary focus being to help us market the offering, identify and manage new business opportunities, and help the team to operate efficiently.

This is a junior role and will suit someone who is a highly motivated and organised self-starter, with an interest in learning more about the business of consulting. It may provide an a-typical route into a consulting career, or a marketing or business development career.

Requirements

  • Business development experience in a professional services/consulting environment
  • MS Office proficiency, including ability to create engaging PowerPoint presentations and slides, work with other MS Office programmes efficiently and effectively (Word, Excel)
  • Experience with platforms such as HubSpot or similar, and interest in applying technology and AI to business development
  • Adaptable, quick to learn and thrives in a fast-paced environment

Key responsibilities

  • Runs a systematic approach to identifying and tracking business development opportunities (proactive monitoring, networking with similar roles across other divisions, maintaining contact database)
  • Creates consistent touchpoints with potential and past clients, suggesting ideas and delivering communications
  • Brings ideas and perspectives for business development based on media coverage or proactive research into topical focus areas
  • Translates our offer into engaging business development collateral (e.g. credentials and case study material, events collateral using PowerPoint), looks for opportunities to post content on LinkedIn and intranet
  • Runs an events calendar (identifying opportunities for our team to host or attend external and internal events)
  • Runs internal reporting to ensure all systems are up-to-date with new business prospects and live client work
  • Supports other team logistics as needed to ensure efficient running of the team
