Ready to maximise your potential?

C&C Group supplies software solutions and services to almost every energy and water company throughout Great Britain, along with select pharmaceutical companies.

We are at the dawn of an exciting new era with Smart Grids, as well as Market-wide Half Hourly Settlement (MHHS), which is one of the biggest changes to the electricity industry to date. This means we are on the lookout for exceptional talent to join our team, as we expand our reach as well as our goals.

Technology is the essence of what we do, but our people make us who we are.

What will I be doing?

As a Business Analyst at C&C Group, you will play a crucial role in connecting industry and customer needs with our portfolio.

By leveraging your expanding knowledge of the industry, and our suite of products and services, you will support and contribute to the expansion of our portfolio. You will apply your skills in evaluating processes, defining requirements, and providing data-backed recommendations to executives and stakeholders, whilst ensuring the expectations of our customers are met. You will ensure business and customer requirements are translated into solutions that deliver measurable value and align with C&C Group’s strategic goals.

You will be expected to bridge the gap between customers’ and industry requirements, business processes, and our products. Your colleagues will help you build your knowledge of the utilities sector and our products from the outset; however, you will be expected to add to this quickly so that you can have informed meaningful conversations with stakeholders.

You will be required to thoroughly understand and document the customers’ requirements, and to prepare clear, concise, and unambiguous software specifications ensuring the customers’ and product owners needs are met, and where appropriate, improved upon.

You will act as the pivot between the customer, product managers, software developers, testers, and other internal stakeholders, ensuring that all parties clearly understand what is to be delivered. While Project Managers hold overall responsibility for delivery, you will work closely alongside them, providing clarifications and insight as required to keep delivery aligned with business and customer needs.

What will my day look like?

Requirements Gathering & Documentation

  • Work with stakeholders to elicit, analyse, define, capture and communicate requirements to create a shared understanding amongst business and technical stakeholders which will lead to the implementation of an effective solution.
  • Produce clear, concise, unambiguous, realistic, consistent, detailed, and complete software specifications. Translate industry and business requirements into detailed specifications.
  • Work with product owners to analyse industry and customer driven change proposals to determine the impacts on a range of products and services.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Build impactful relationships with external and internal stakeholders by being approachable, knowledgeable, and acting as an ambassador of C&C Group.
  • Provide expertise in relation to business and industry processes to ensure our customers’ obligations are effectively met by the software solution, and within any industry-prescribed timetable.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to various parties, both internally and externally.

Solution Support & Collaboration

  • Provide advice on aspects of system design where there may be change. Interpret the business requirement and ensure any change is consistent and will be understood by the customer.
  • Aim to have a broader view than our developers and work together to bridge any knowledge gaps.
  • Represent the customer/business to the wider team to help prioritise requirements and solutions.
  • Collaborate with the project teams on various aspects of the project/specifications and design functions.
  • Occasionally assist with testing scenarios where in-depth input / knowledge into specific aspects of a system or its functions is needed.
  • Communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels throughout the company.

Practice Development

  • Working with colleagues to input into the development of the Business Analysis Practice and that of QA, promoting best practice and developing new processes and templates in line with industry standards.
