Job summary

A local transport company in Berwick-upon-Tweed is seeking an experienced PCV Mechanic to join their maintenance team. You will be responsible for routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on buses and coaches, ensuring they remain safe and reliable. The ideal candidate has NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and proven experience with PCVs or HGVs. Are you a skilled PCV Mechanic looking for a new challenge? We’re seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our maintenance team based in Berwick, ensuring our fleet of buses and coaches stays in top condition and on the road.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on PCVs (buses/coaches)
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults
  • Perform MOT preparations and safety checks
  • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
  • Work collaboratively with the workshop team to meet deadlines and standards
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent qualification
  • Proven experience working with PCVs or HGVs
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Full UK driving licence (PCV licence desirable but not essential)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
