A respected multidisciplinary consultancy is looking to expand its Guildford team with a skilled Building Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic environment working on projects across sectors such as education, healthcare, retail, and heritage properties. The firm is known for its collaborative ethos and dedication to sustainable, innovative solutions.

Role Highlights

  1. Carry out comprehensive building surveys, including condition assessments, defect identification, and project oversight for refurbishment and maintenance works.
  2. Produce clear and detailed documentation, including technical reports, specifications, and tender packages.
  3. Advise clients on regulatory compliance, health and safety, and statutory obligations.
  4. Oversee projects from planning through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  5. Build and maintain effective relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  6. Provide support for expert witness work and assist in dispute resolution when necessary.
  7. Work on a diverse portfolio of buildings, including residential, commercial, and public sector assets.

What We’re Looking For

  1. Degree in Building Surveying or a closely related field.
  2. Ideally chartered (MRICS or similar), or actively working towards professional qualification.
  3. Demonstrable experience in a building surveying role, preferably within a consultancy setting.
  4. Strong understanding of building construction, pathology, and current legislation.
  5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Organised and able to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
  7. Team-oriented, proactive, and committed to ongoing professional growth.
