Overview

As a trusted delivery partner on high-profile, high-value nuclear and industrial projects, we are seeking an exceptional Building Lead HQ to join our growing team. This role offers the opportunity to shape the successful delivery of one or more allocated buildings on-site, driving safe, timely construction.

Responsibilities
  • Champion Health, Safety & Nuclear Safety Culture across the full lifecycle of your building(s), leading by example.
  • Support the Area Lead in coordinating daily construction activities, engineering inputs, and work progress.
  • Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams, ensuring aligned, efficient and high-quality delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Principal Contractor (NNB) to ensure all activities comply with CDM regulations.
  • Ensure interface alignment between MEH partners, subcontractors, and other contractors to guarantee access, sequencing and safety.
  • Manage SIP scope activities (Scaffolding, Insulation, Painting) and ensure discipline integration through Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC leads.
  • Oversee and validate construction documentation, including the List of Applicable Documents (LAD), Design Work Packs (DWP), and access strategies.
  • Track and report progress, productivity, and forecasting data using tools like Procon.
  • Ensure compliance with specifications and nuclear site licence conditions.
  • Support change management within the building, maintaining tight control over scope, documentation and delivery plans.
  • Monitor the constructability process and contribute engineering insights to optimise sequencing and efficiency.
  • Lead teams and manage contractors while navigating complex interfaces and ensuring safety and quality.
  • Demonstrate a safety-first mindset and respect for nuclear standards and compliance frameworks.
  • Think laterally and flexibly to solve problems with both strategic thinking and practical know-how.
  • Communicate effectively and engage with stakeholders, including various contractors, partners, and internal teams.
  • Be results-driven with a can-do mentality, able to work in detail while keeping the bigger picture in sight.
  • Build strong relationships and promote good industrial relations within your teams.
Qualifications
  • Experience in construction installation methodologies; preferably in heavy industry or nuclear sectors.
  • Degree in a construction or engineering-related discipline (preferably Mechanical, Electrical or HVAC).
  • HNC in a relevant field with substantial relevant experience.
  • 10+ years experience in site or construction management roles.
  • IOSH Managing Safely (preferred).
  • CCNSG Safety Passport.
  • Able to obtain BPSS clearance or higher.
  • Professional accreditation (desirable but not essential).
