Qualifications

Skills

Experience in FM, industrial or building services environment

adi Facilities Engineering – Building Fabric & Compliance Operative

Location: This role is based full-time at a client site in Wolverhampton.

About the Role

As a Building Fabric & Compliance Operative, you will work directly on key client sites as part of a dedicated on-site facilities and engineering team. This is a hands‑on role supporting non-core engineering, facilities and utilities operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hands‑on maintenance and operation of building services, utilities and infrastructure
  • Repair and maintenance of pipework, HVAC systems, heating, cooling, refrigeration, compressed air and associated equipment
  • Supporting utilities plant including effluent plant, boiler house and compressed air systems
  • Ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements
  • Carrying out fault finding, root cause analysis and implementing permanent fixes
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and minor project works
  • Assisting with planned maintenance schedules and reactive call-outs
  • Managing contractors and agency workers safely when required

We would like to hear from you if you have:

  • Experience in an FM, industrial or building services environment
  • Hands‑on experience with utilities plant (boilers, refrigeration, compressed air, effluent plant)
  • Good knowledge of HVAC, heating, plumbing and building infrastructure systems
  • Fabrication, metalwork and pipework installation experience
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation (PUWER, LOLER, Working at Height, Electricity at Work)
  • Experience with permits to work, LOTO and maintenance record keeping
  • IPAF, PASMA, CSCS and relevant H&S qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience in a hygienic or FMCG food manufacturing environment (advantageous)
