We have an exciting opportunity for a Building Control Support Team Leader to join us! This is a full‑time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £32,962 – £36,791 per annum.

The Role

Reporting to the Building Control Service Manager, you will lead and manage our technical support officers, ensuring the Building Control service operates efficiently, accurately, and in full compliance with the Building Safety Act and quality assurance standards. You will play a key role in developing our systems, supporting statutory returns, and contributing to the long‑term competitiveness and viability of the service.

Your Role Will Involve
  • Daily management and supervision of Building Control support officers, including appraisals and training
  • Maintaining statutory returns and KPIs for the Building Safety Regulator, and overseeing ISO 9001 quality assurance processes
  • Managing registration and validation processes for building regulation applications, ensuring statutory targets are met
  • Overseeing financial administration, including invoicing, purchase orders, reconciliation, and monitoring fees and charges
  • Developing customer care and service improvements, including handling complex enquiries, complaints, FOIs, and updating website content
What We Are Looking For
  • Experience in Building Control with strong knowledge of processes, legislation, and customer service
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills, with attention to accuracy and detail
  • Strong leadership and supervisory ability, motivating a small team and managing workloads effectively
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and plans, and work under pressure to meet statutory deadlines
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems; experience of Uniform or GIS systems desirable
