Job description

Job Title: Broker Claims Handler

We are assisting a prominent insurance firm in hiring a Broker Claims Handler. This role offers an opportunity to join a reputable company in the industry. The successful candidate will manage the entire claims process, liaising with clients, insurers, and stakeholders, negotiating settlements, and providing expert advice. The role requires strong policy knowledge and the ability to resolve complex claims while maintaining excellent relationships with clients and suppliers.

Experience
  • At least 5 years of experience working in a claims department within a brokerage.
  • Managing commercial claims.
  • Conducting client meetings and presentations.
  • Negotiating claims settlements.
  • Handling total loss claims.
  • Resolving liability disputes.
  • Managing and resolving client complaints.
  • Strong understanding of policy wordings, especially for core insurance classes such as Commercial Combined, Property, and Liability.
Responsibilities
  • Take full ownership of allocated claims, managing the entire process from start to finish, including challenging repudiated claims and providing supporting broking arguments.
  • Ensure Account Executives and Directors are informed of all repudiations, verifying each one.
  • Maintain clear communication between claims and broking teams, sharing relevant information with the appropriate parties.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and Management to meet service standards and deliverables.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key partners, including Insurers and Loss Adjusters.
  • Stay informed about changes in legislation, regulations, and case law, analyzing their impact on claims and providing team training on these updates.
