Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a skilled Brazer for a temp-to-perm position in South Yorkshire. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in brazing mild steel using a torch, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Working hours are Monday to Thursday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Friday until 2:30 pm.

Full Job Title: Brazer (Torch and Induction) – Mild Steel Pipework
Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Brazer to join our client’s team on a temp to perm basis, working with a torch and to braze mild steel pipework. The role involves producing high-quality, reliable connections to pipework engineering drawings and safety standards while working efficiently within a workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Brazing mild steel pipework using oxy-fuel or similar torch equipment
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings and specifications
  • Preparing materials, joints, and components prior to brazing
  • Ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and dimensional standards
  • Carrying out visual inspections of brazed joints
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area
  • Following all health and safety procedures and company policies
  • Working collaboratively with other workshop and production staff
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience brazing mild steel
  • Confident using a torch for brazing operations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Good attention to detail and quality-focused approach
  • Understanding of workshop health and safety requirements
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship
  • Experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
Working Hours
  • Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
